Accounting & Tax Manager - Dubai

Your new company

Manages Middle East Accounting, Tax function by overseeing day-to-day accounts tasks (ensuring that the accounting transactions are according to global as well as group accounting rules such as IFRS) as well as reporting of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements to the Company accurately and timely for the company to manage the company’s overall financial performance. Day-to-operation could include reviewing / authorising journal entries prepared by the team, approvals, tax calculations, managing financial closing, liaising with stakeholders (e.g.sales) related to transactions and advising on appropriate accounting treatment as well as training of accounting members. The role is instrumental in driving performance, ensuring legal, accounting and tax compliance, and enhancing the organisation's overall accounting processes. In addition, the position holder manages the accounting of SA branch/Morocco Liaison office to insure continuous alignment and smooth operational processes amongst Middle East functions. The position holder develops and fosters strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, government representatives, and potential business partners.

Your new role

Strategic and Managerial Responsibilities:
  • Implement the Finance, Accounting and Tax functional strategy in line with business vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
  • Ensure that the overall business strategy is translated into annual Finance, Accounting and Tax operational business plans and the performance is monitored to ensure business plans are in line with the overall strategy.
  • Implement Finance, Accounting and Tax functional policy, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all Finance, Accounting and Tax functional areas
  • Manage Finance, Accounting and Tax compliance frameworks and programs within the Finance, Accounting and Tax departments, ensuring alignment with local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Core responsibilities
    • Spearhead the development of Finance, Accounting and Tax frameworks in close collaboration with SHARP Leadership, ensuring forward-thinking strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives and drive sustainable growth.
    • Evaluate, refine, and implement robust compliance processes, guaranteeing seamless internal organisational adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards, and mitigating potential risks.
    • Manage the monthly / Quarterly/ Annual closing including ensuring accurate entries by the team as well as timely reporting.
  • Manage the timely tax calculation and filing (especially corporate tax and VAT)
  • Lead gross profit analysis and prepare company financial statements
  • Review all Accounts Payable activities including petty cash reconciliation, Accrue (Non-Trade AP) post invoices.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and customers, ensuring timely and accurate communication and resolution of issues, and negotiating favourable terms and conditions to optimise operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Overseeing the management of external audits and communicating with external auditors for any consultations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements
  • Overseeing the management of tax compliance and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimising tax planning strategies

What you'll need to succeed

  • 15+ years of accounting experience.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. Finance and Economics can be an additional
  • Accounting and Tax Operations Management skills
  • Cash Flow Management experience
  • Banking and Transactions experience
  • Detail-Oriented, Analytical, and Problem-Solving skills are required.
  • Proper leadership and team management skills are essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel/PPT).
  • Extensive experience with SAP.
