Assistant Finance Manager - Dubai

The Assistant Finance Manager will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, tax compliance, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA) with 5–8 years of experience, preferably within the chemical distribution, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
Your new role
1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
•Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
•Analyse financial performance, providing insights on variances and trends.
•Conduct profitability analysis by product line, business unit, and region.
•Prepare financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
•Provide management with actionable insights on cost efficiencies and revenue optimisation.
2. Accounting & Financial Reporting
•Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial statements.
•Ensure compliance with IFRS and local UAE financial reporting regulations.
•Assist in preparing management reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
•Review and reconcile financial data to maintain accuracy and integrity.
•Work closely with auditors to ensure smooth and timely audits.
3. Taxation & Compliance
•Manage VAT compliance in the UAE, ensuring timely filing and reconciliation.
•Assist in corporate tax planning and compliance with UAE tax laws.
•Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance with international transactions.
•Ensure adherence to local and international tax regulations, identifying tax-saving opportunities.
4. Process Improvement & Controls
•Strengthen internal controls and financial policies to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
•Support ERP system enhancements and automation initiatives.
5. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
•Work closely with commercial, procurement, and operations teams to drive financial performance.
•Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, cost control, and margin optimisation.
•Present financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key opportunities and risks.
What you'll need to succeed
•Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA) – Mandatory
•Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and corporate tax regulations
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Experience: -
•5-8 years of experience in FP&A, accounting, and taxation, preferably in commodity trading and distribution, petrochemicals, or manufacturing.
